We took a look at the JBL Quantum 200 | Electronics Showcase and compare that to the quantum 200 and we got sort of mixed results from that if you're trying to decide between those two I'll leave a link in the description below for that video so in today's video we're gonna compare the quantum 200 versus the quantum 300.

which could be even a little more confusing and I'll leave a link in the description below with current pricing on everything covered in this video so first let's take a look at what's different between the quantum 200 in the quantum 300 now both of these are compatible with Xbox Playstation PC switch mobile devices Mac and VR one difference with the quantum 300 is you're gonna get JBL quantum surround well you don't get that with a 200.

So what to see does that make a difference both of these have quantum sound signature and 50 millimeter drivers they both have a flip-up mute microphone they both have the same 20 Hertz to 20 kilohertz frequency response the quantum 200 is $60 in the quantum 300 is $80 both of these have a 3.5 millimeter audio cable the difference is the 300 has a USB adapter the 200 has a PC splitter both of these are Dischord certified and also work with teamspeak and Skype another big difference is on the quantum 300 you can use their quantum engine PC software to adjust the audio to your liking.

Unboxing for the quantum 300 

Let's do a quick unboxing for the quantum 300 and then we'll start testing these out safety and warranty information QuickStart guide same little piece of paper that's on the 200 a pretty large USB adapter okay so it looks pretty much identical to the quantum 200 it looks like the same plastic sliders pretty much the same design and materials as the 200 looks like the same amount of padding on the headband looks like the same built in 3.5 millimeter audio cable volume controls there on the left of your cup looks like the same flip up to mute microphone really nice cushions here on the ear cups with the same fold flat design but so far I'm not really seeing anything different then the quantum 200 having these right next to each other.

Can't even tell the difference

I can't even tell the difference actually I'm starting to think these are identical headsets you're just paying $20 more to get this USB adapter just in case you're interested I'll go ahead and show the unboxing power of the quantum 200 but if you've already seen that you can go ahead and skip ahead to where we start testing out the microphones like I mentioned earlier you do get a PC splitter on this one but honestly you can get those fairly cheap on Amazon you're also getting a QuickStart guide the same safety and warranty information it's something that in Japanese or Chinese looks like maybe some kind of quality control. 

Flip up microphone

I'm not really sure flip up microphone on the outside of the ear cups you do have a high gloss finish looks like you get the same built in 3.5 millimeter cable really nice quality although it isn't detachable these also have very similar ear cups on the inside of the headband it looks like you get the same amount of padding and material looks like the same plastic adjustable sliders there on the side I do have to say the design that JBL is using look really nice in person here on the left ear cup you've got your volume wheel so overall I think both of these headsets are really nice build quality this is a mic test for the quantum 200 gaming headset. 

Using headphones

You'll want to make sure you're using headphones for the rest of this video so you can hear the difference between the quantum 200 mic and the 300 mic although I have a feeling they're using the same exact microphone so you may only hear a difference due to the fact that that 300 is USB and the 200 is 3.5 millimeter so which has better sound on PC well the quantum 300 is a lot better when it comes to volume overall sound ian has a lot more punch when it comes to bass I decided to hook up the quantum 200 to the USB adapter. 

300 just in order to see

Which came with a 300 just in order to see what would happen and they actually worked identical even the JBL quantum engine software picks them up as the quantum 300 headset even though it is the 200 so in case you're wondering yeah you can use either of these headsets with that USB adapter even with music it's so much louder and better based with the USB adapter than without it it might even be a larger difference when you jump from the 200 to the 300 then when I compared the quantum 100 and 200 so if you're looking for a headset for mainly PC then you definitely want the quantum 300 it wins pretty easily this is a mic test for the quantum 300 gaming headset again make sure you're using headphones for the rest of the video to compare the quantum 200 to the quantum 300 to see.

   

If there really is a difference in these two microphones so when it comes to which of these headsets sound better on consoles these sound pretty much identical on my xbox 1s I try to use the USB adapter on my xbox and it didn't work so I don't know if it only works on pc but it seems to be that way from my testing so if you're using only a console like ps4 Xbox or switch then I would definitely go with the cheaper quantum 200 this is a mic test for the quantum 200 gaming headset one nice thing about both of these headsets is since they both have the flip up microphone and volume wheel on the left ear cup it makes it really easy to use either of these for mobile devices unlike some of the competition where you have to worry about keeping track of extra adaptors for inline controls. 

Hear which direction footsteps

You can also hear which direction footsteps are coming from or which area shots are coming from with both of these headsets now neither headset will sound quite as good as they do on a PC with gaming or music but I think both of these are good choices for mobile gaming now this is a mic test for the quantum 300 using a 3.5 millimeter instead of the USB adapter just so you can see the difference between this one and the quantum 200 now if you're wanting the headset that is more comfortable you can go with the quantum 200 or you can go with the quantum 300 because as you guessed it these two are identical they're both using the same exact to your cups same build design. 

Everything is identical

I mean everything is identical so if you're concerned about which one is more comfortable don't be they're basically the same headset so let me know in the comments below on which microphone you think sounds better the quantum 300 or the quantum 200 this is a mic test for the quantum 200 gaming headset so in case I wasn't clear earlier these headsets are basically identical well except for the USB adapter that's included with the 300 which allows you to make adjustments for their quantum engine software which includes an equaliser mic levels and you can even put in your height in head diameter for better spatial sound accuracy. 

Technically speaking one headset

So technically speaking one headset is not better than the other but the addition of the USB adapter that comes with the quantum 300 makes it not only a better gaming headset but a better value than the quantum 200 mainly because it's like you're getting two headsets and one the 300 with the USB adapter and if you don't want to use that it's like you're getting the quantum 200 so in this comparison if I had to choose just one of these two gaming headsets I would have to go with the JBL quantum 300 so if you've made it this far into the video you may want to say thanks by subscribing and don't forget to give a thumbs up if this video was helpful this is Brian from fishby productions thanks for watching and I'll see you on the next one.
